I thought i would use this page to explain what happens at the different services
Tuesday
This our open circle,this is where anyone whether they are new or old to philosophy or mediumship can give communication from the spirit world to those who are attending, it might even be a poem someone has written or a story they would like to tell , this session is intended to be used for learning where there is a sympathetic congregation.Everyone is made to feel welcome,there is a raffle,followed by a hymn,then an opening prayer,and then the circle is declared open for anyone who wishes to stand up and give their communication.If healing is required a list is provided to put your name on, and this is given by a qualified healer in the privasey of a seprate room during the service which lasts until 2.30pm, after the closing prayer there is refreshments where you can chat to the new friends you have made.
The Service starts at 7.00pm as always the start of our services is opened with a warm welcome followed by the reading out of the 7 principles which you will find on the page list on this site and in the front of our hymn books, this is what Spiritualists try to live by, abit like the 10 comandments that christians live by, the speaker will be invited to open with a prayer,then a hymn will be sung followed by the speaker giving their demonstration.If it is a special fundraising evening the speaker will say a closing prayer, after which the church notices will be read out and the raffle drawn,the service is then finished and refreshments served for those not whishing to go straight home,if it is not a special evening then after the refreshments are had there is an open platform around 8.30pm-9.00pm where anyone is invited to stand on the rostrum and give their readings/communications to again a sympathetic congregation
Thursday
This is our healing night for anyone wishing to have healing or if you just want to sit in the peaceful atmosphere, no-one is pressured into having healing, if you would like healing and havent had it before,there will be someone on reception who will give you a healing card to fill in of basic info which is required by law which will also be filled in after every healing session,this is time given to you by the healer/trainee healer to discuss the healing you have had,everytime you go after this you will just need to ask for your card as you enter the church.The service is opened with a welcome as always,then a minutes silence is given where you can send thoughts out to those who you feel needs them or you can say their names out aloud before the silence, that is followed by the healing hymn and then the opening prayer, after this a short piece of music is played for the healers to atune to spirit and where you can relax and unwind from the days tensions . The healers are then invited to stand by a chair which has been set out before the service,there will be several at the front of the church and then you will be invited to sit on one of the chairs where there will be healer waiting to welcome you,by introducing themselves and putting you at ease, feel free to ask them any questions.all the time the healing is taking place light relaxing music is played and the congregation are asked to sit quitetly so not to disturb others around them, when you have had your healing you are asked if you would like a drink of water and are asked to sit back at the seat you were first sitting in when you entered the church, while all the congregation has finished having their individual healing. A final hymn is sung and the closing prayer is said and then who ever gaving you the healing will come to you and fill your healing card out while refreshments are served
Sunday
Our Sunday service starts with a warm welcome and introduction of the speaker, the 7 principles are read out to the congregation who can join in if they wish and usually do,this is followed by the speaker opening in prayer, and then a hymn is sung after which the speaker will be invited to give their address for the evening( this is philosophy).Then another hymn will be sang and then the speaker will be invited to give their demonstration of their mediumship.There is a final hymn sung and then the speaker will close in prayer and refreshments will be served for anyone wanting a nice cup of tea or coffee.
